We will be staying there and are curious about the beach...rock or sand? Is there good snorkling?

We stayed at Ocean Palm Villa during our annual trip for the last two years. The view was beautiful especially at Sunrise. It was not too far away from Coral Bay, the restaurants or the beaches for us but some people might think its too far out of town. The beach is a rock beach with a very strong current. Even walking on the beach was difficult. There were nine of us each trip and only two of us braved the current to snorkle although they said they saw amazing amounts of fish once they were able to get into the water. There was a smaller cove near our villa that they swam in a few times which was calm and more protected. I would stay there again because we love Salt Pond and hiking to Rams Head and Drunk Bay (and the Tourist Trap) but I would never count on using the beach at the house.

We love the area because of the proximity to Coral Bay and Salt Pond, plus our view at Surf Sound was amazing. We saw people attempting to snorkel, but I wouldn't do it, especially with so many other places close by.
