Thanks to everyone that gave me the confidence to book a vrbo thru Rachelle at St John Villa Co.
We booked our 1st trip (last minute) to St. John today.
We are leaving this Sunday morning and we can't wait.

One of my questions is. Will I be out of place wearing shorts and sandals on the flight to St Thomas. I would generally not fly dressed like that but I have a feeling it may be different flying to the islands ?

Thanks
Ed

Not at all. We generally travel in the winter and change into our shorts, skirts, flip flops, etc. as soon as we hit Miami, San Juan or whatever airport we connect at. Throw on your sandals and don't forget to grab a free rum shot as soon as you land! Enjoy! St. John is a great place!

That's what I was thinking, just wanted to be sure. Also didn't want to pack the extra shoes.

Thanks

Hi Ed -- so exciting that you'll be experiencing St. John awesomeness in just a few days. As for shorts & sandals on the plane...absolutely! I often do that in December, and I fly from Boston. 8)

(It can get a bit chilly on the plane, though, so if either of you tends to get cold on planes, keep that in mind).

Actually, I'd say you'd be out of place if you didn't wear shorts and sandals.

Plus, pretty much from the second you step off the plane in St. Thomas (actually out onto the tarmac in that wonderful Caribbean humidity) to transitioning over to St. John via the ferry to the whole week on St. John, you are going to want to be in shorts and sandals...A/C is pretty much limited to your villa and rental cars and a few shops on island. Most of the time in you're in the warmth.
