Looking at a flight from Columbus to Miami to STT. Price is $200 below Delta which we usually take thru ATL. I have never flown American Airlines and not liking a lot of the reviews I'm seeing. Is it worth the savings? Also, have never went thru Miami, what's that like? Thanks for your help again! ticker soon come....

I fly AA all the time. Never had a problem. I've also never had an issue with Miami airport :)

I hope AA through MIA is OK, because we're doing it for our next trip. Looks like your trip is taking shape. We hope to see you on the rock... or in MIA if we're all stuck there!

We usually fly AA through Miami or SJU to STT and have also flown Delta to other destinations.

For a $200 savings, I wouldn't hesitate to choose AA.

I would advise to check your schedule frequently, they do make changes.

I fly through MIA all the time. The AA terminal is newly renovated with lots of places to catch a bite to eat...

Only problems I've ever had were weather-related as afternoon summer storms are fairly common and a couple of flights have been delayed because of that...

Agreed; last few trips have been on AA through Miami and I have no complaints. As mentioned, do check your AA flights because they do change their times just slightly fairly often. Save the $$ and go for it!!! Ali~

MIA is worth extra just for the food!

The cuban sandwich at Cafe Versailles is simple & very good!
And La Carreta is great!

Start the island early.... leave it late!

The wife and I have taken the AA Columbus - Miami flights 6 of the last 7 seven years on our way to STJ and never have had any problems, coming or going. Go with AA, but keep an eye on schedule modifications as mentioned above.

we flew AA through Miami a couple trips ago, we normally are usair through charlotte. It was so pretty coming home and flying out of Miami and up over the beach (can't remember if it was the approach or the take off), but then I'm the kind who likes to take pictures out the plane window

We use AA all the time--have lots of miles. I must say, I never understand the bad reviews, because we have had nothing but great experiences with them, for years.

Also, Miami is a large airport, but well-run, and very manageable.

Reminds me of our return honeymoon flight from Aruba a few hundred years ago. We were connecting in MIA and after we stopped at the gate, we heard "Welcome to the United States" in the thickest hispanic accent possible.

Still cracks us up to this day.

We're also flying AA down & back to STT via MIA in two weeks so it will likely be "deja vu all over again".

We flew from DCA to STT through Miami on AA. Didn't have any problems. Miami airport was nice but large, we had longer layovers so not a problem but we did walk around a lot trying to find good places to eat.

I would do it to save the money!!
