Ajax Peak Road

We are looking at Caribbean Jewels villa on Ajax Peak and can't really find any solid info on it. Can anyone tell me what the road is like to the villa's on Ajax Peak (Winsome, etc.)? Has anybody stayed in a villa up there and used the pool? I have heard it is breezy and want to be able to use the pool without freezing. We are going in August so it should be plenty warm enough. But since it is August and "H" season, don't want to have issues getting up and down the road.

I've stayed on Ajax Peak, but at Bay View Villa. Ajax Peak road is great... paved and not too steep! You can actually walk to the smoothie truck from up there!

You'll have great views and good breezes!

If you're standing at the smoothie stand facing the road and look right (towards Coral Bay), you can see the base of Ajax Peak Road (on the other side of the road).

I stayed at Creolla on Ajax Peak in January/February. It is partially paved so depending on where the house is, it should be fine. Creolla was the last villa on the street and we had no problem getting to it with the jeep. It was a bit bumpy once the paving portion ended but completely fine to traverse. As far as wind goes, there was a nice breeze but it was in no way cold. It was more refreshing than anything and that was during the winter.
Here is why that's a great location:
There was a cute family of donkeys that visited us every morning up there.
Maho is a six-seven minute drive.
Donkey Diner is about a 10 minute drive.

gigi,
i've looked at limited info on car jewels & windsom for couple yrs since both have everything on 1 level (except second bedroom) plus convenient location to coral bay and north shore.
we drove to in april in a ford fusion (dry day). rds good till after turnnoff to right and down hill where pavement ends. not too step but rough for car and easy for jeep. short distance pass a villa on right then a hard switch back to right and cj drive is to right in switch back. level drive and paved lot on main level by pool. nice views form area.
continue down hill a short distance and win house is below rd on left. there is a parking platform for 2 cars and long steep stairs down to west side of villa in area of great room. did not go down. great views from area though. we have taken winhouse off our list due to distance and stairs from parking to villa (but we are closer to 70 than to 65). keeping cj on our list of suspects.
maybe this will help.

We stayed at Debolina in March 2 years ago. GREAT location and villa and pool was great, not to mention the amazing views of the Carolina valley and Coral Bay. Some rough spots on the road, but that's St. John, no problem!!

And I thought the drive out to Fish Bay was hair raising, but after watching that jeepcam video...

If you're talking about upper Fish Bay (Skytop) that is a much scarier drive than the drive up Ajax Peak Road.

No just the south shore road area of Fish Bay that one tight switchback near Ditliff and the area where its a shere dropoff down to the bay by the intersection with Gift Hill. When we were there in 2010 there was just a saw horse in front of the drop , we had to laugh because that wouldn't have done anybody anygood.
