Day Four - Boat Trip - NOT AGAIN
Posted: Sun Apr 29, 2007 12:21 pm
Again, I sleep fitfully because I know we have a trip scheduled. Note to Liamsaunt - we actually found the beds to be quite comfortable and not too hard at all. I am awake before 6:00 and don't hear any rain. I am so hopeful for just a few minutes and then I hear the torrential downpours that have become so familiar to us. Once again, I get a call from Captain Kevin saying today is not our day. At this point I was afraid we would miss out on our Born to Rhumb day because I thought Kevin was booked for the rest of the week, but he said he could take us out on Friday! Yeah. Stevie and I (the earliest risers) are having coffee in the main house (kitchen pictured here).

I looked out the window and had to do a double take. At the beach of Fish Bay and spreading out into the beginning of the bay was a wave of red-brown. I called Stevie over and we watched as the entire bay slowly turned red!!! Runoff from all the rain was washing down into the bay. I must say it was quite a site to watch and I'm sorry I was too sleepy to remember to grab my camera.
People started slowing waking, having coffee, jumping in the pool and by noon the torrential downpours had slowed to gray skies.

I check in with my brother and we decide to have dinner at Ocean Grill that night. He makes the reservation for 7:00 and we decide to head to the beach. Which one? You guessed it, back to Trunk. The California kids hadn't seen it yet, and I didn't care as long as I was at a beach. We pack up the two cars and head out and spend a couple of fabulous hours at the beach. The weather cleared up nicely for us (it was probably about 1:00 by then).

Head back to the villa and get ready for dinner. We had a fabulous dinner at Ocean Grill. We had the small upstairs dining room all to ourselves and told family stories and laughed and laughed and laughed. Some highlights from the menu: We got a bunch of appetizers including the Truffle French Fries with Guryere cheese (yum), coconut shrimp and lobster pizzetta. I don't eat seafood, but every last bite of everything was gone so I think it was pretty good! Some entrees that we enjoyed - the filet was fabulous, the lobster tail was delicious, pork tenderloin was very good and the tuna got absolute raves. At least I think it was tuna - by this time we'd had a few bottles of wine.
Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera on this night, but my cousin did so I'll post picture of this later. Had the banana cake and whoever recommended it on this board was dead on - it was delicious. My daughter had the homemade white chocolate ice cream that was sinful!!
One car headed back to the villa after dinner, while the "diehards" just kept going. We went to the Beach Bar for a drink, but it was crowded so we headed back to Woody's. Had another great time there, we were dancing and laughing
Back to the villa we go.
