Hey everyone. My daughter and I are planning a trip next year and were thinking of staying in one of the Serendipity Condos. Has anyone stayed there? The price looks right as I will be on a tight budget. Thanks for your input. Its invaluable.

Stayed for 3 weeks Oct 2010 and it was clean, safe and very affordable. Quiet neighborhood and you need a car. The unit we stayed in was "dated" but we were gone all day and the price was the overriding reason we stayed there. No regrets.

We also stay there for a week in March 2010, condo was dated, but very clean, the bed was horrible but I hear that particular condo has been sold (as they are all individually owned) and updated with new furniture. The verandahs are fabulous, wireless internet worked great, all in all, I would stay there again. I also hear it is under new management. Good luck!

We stayed there in August 2010 in the "Delta" unit. We were happy with it and had no compliants..the view was fairly good...as we were on the top floor. We enjoyed the balcony and would stay there again with no problem..ours had nice furniture...and the kitchen was nice... bathroom was dated somewhat...but was clean..id say go for it...but as mentioned...you will want to get a Jeep...

My daughter and her significant other stayed there a few years ago and loved it. Close to town and you can't beat the price.

If you like Serendip you can also look into Battery Hill or Cruz Views - same idea but closer to town.

We stayed a week in 2010. We were on a tight budget and were very happy with our housing choice for many of the same reasons the other posters listed. The pool was a plus because our son was/is addicted to water.

Have stayed at Serendip as well. Loved it! My condo had fabulous view - veranda was great and the rest of the condo was fine. Clean, well-equipped... everything I needed for what little time I spend indoors while on St. John!
Definitely need 4-wheel drive - Jacob's Ladder and the turn-off street are fun in the rain!!

This post is a couple days old so you may have already booked but if not, I thought I'd add my '2 cents' as many people ask questions about St. John's more affordable condo's and if it's too late for you, it may help others.
I have stayed at all 3 places mentioned (Serendip, Cruz Views, Battery Hill). Of the 3, I far prefer Cruz Views BUT it really depends which unit you stay in (applies to all 3 places really as all units are individually-owned).
Here's my own personal pros& cons:
Serendip—convenient location to Pine Peace, gas station, car barge, Starfish, not too far to the beaches; the studio units don’t work even just for the 2 of us because husband snores, we need bedroom with closeable door & comfortable sleeper sofa; views are ok, pool is ok but I don’t really like fiberglass pools
Battery Hill—convenient location, can walk down to town but uphill is a bear, I don’t do it; closer to beaches than Serendip; have to go thru the busiest street in town to get to the beaches or Mongoose Junction (street that goes past Fish Trap & Lime Inn); pool is ok; views—I think—are better than Serendip (water is closer) but you can get some noise from town; you can get 2 br & 2ba units with sleeper sofas which is very nice when staying with 2 couples but interiors always seem darker to me than the other 2 places; maybe it’s just the units I’ve stayed in;
Cruz Views—convenient location to town, ferry dock, beaches (closest of the 3) plus just a couple blocks from Dolphin Market; doesn’t really get noise from town, has great views (Pillsbury Sound, Cruz Bay Harbor, outlying cays, St. Thomas, sunsets), very nice saline-filtered concrete pool with ocean views and surrounded on other sides with pretty gardens, units I’ve stayed in have nice size decks with great views, they are larger than Serendip while some units are bigger/some smaller than Battery Hill but they all only have 1 bathroom, some have 2 BRs, some only 1BR;
Hope this helps!
