Have a good friend that just booked a trip to STT. (screaming deal at Frenchmans Reef) We usually just pass through on our way to STJ, so I'm of no help. Any recommends? Also what STT rental car companies, let you take your car to STJ? Just so he has that option if he wants to day trip over.

You may want to post this on the STT forum too - many STJ forum respondents have seen little of STT - as you say about yourself, just 'passing through'.
Some great beaches - Magens, Sapphire, Lindqvuist, Secret Harbor, Coki, Brewers and there at the Reef, Morningstar.
Some really secluded beaches that are only accessible by 4 WD or hiking.
World class shopping at Main Street or Havensite .
Many marinas around the island - lots of available charters of every kind of vessel from Kayak to Mega Yacht.
Plenty of beachside dining and beach bars.
Spectacular views from a dozen roadside outlooks, restaurants and beaches.
A huge variety of dining choices - Frenchtown alone has enough options to fill a week up and Red Hook has about as many or more. Great roadside food trucks and stands for pate, chicken leg, kallaloo, johnny cake, stew mutton, curry chicken , bullfoot etc. Even the supermarkets like Plaza Xtra or Food Center offer delicious take out options.
Coral World is an extremely well presented Marine destination.
There is even an Ice Sculpture attraction on the Waterfront.
A great sunset spot at Paradise Point - with a tramway and ferris wheel to boot.
Mahogany Run golf course is a big draw for many visitors and locals - a full 18 hole professional Fazio designed award winning layout.
I believe the only car rental agency to restrict the STJ barge travel is Hertz - some of the others may restrict certain models with low clearance.
A day at Magens beach, with a picnic on the table in the shade of a sea grape tree, a slice of pizza from the beach cafe and a stop at 'Udder Delite' on the way home is a STT classic way to relax.
Hope your friends enjoy the VI and maybe even get a chance to visit STJ too.

Bolongo Bay's Caribbean night is fun and free..you buy food if you want..we did not do the buffet but ordered off the menu. It was fun.

I didn't know Fabio designed golf courses. Man, that guy does it all! I wonder when he has time off from his bare chested photo shoots.

We did an overnight on STT in 2010 on our way to STJ. Our main reason was to take our pirate obsessed son to Blackbeard's Castle. I was pleasantly surprised, we really enjoyed it. The top is sort of touristy but the houses were great and all the docents were a wealth of knowledge and eager to educate us. It was a fun and interesting couple of hours. We had drinks at the hotel at the bottom of the tour and then lunch at Gladys's, which I highly recommend.

The inn keepers were horrified that we weren't making time for Coral World.

We have never done Coral World- I guess we thought it was too touristy ! We used to enjoy Coki beach.. they had a little trouble there with pushy vendors, so we have stayed away-
Did a great shore scuba dive at Coki a few years ago.
Now Lindquist is our favorite..simple ,great beach- all we need.

Frenchman's Reef has The Adventure Center that offers many water activities like Kayaking and day sails. Another concession offers jet ski tours. You can also rent boogie boards. It's all a matter of what your friend wants or likes to do.
