Cost of Rachel to Red Hook?

Time to pick the minds of some kindred spirits.

Wife Jackie & I are almost in our 30-day window before we depart for STJ. United (the airline formerly known as Continental) initially said that we'd arrive at Cyril King from Newark at 11:30AM, but then rescheduled us for a 1:15 PM arrival. So ... unless time stands still, there's no way we're gonna make the 2:00PM Red Hook ferry.

Given our situation, would it still be worth it (IYO) to book Rachel for the ride over to Red Hook? (As in, what's the difference in costs between the cattle car van & Rachel?) I'm still leaning toward Rachel. And the optimistic side of me says that United (nee Continental) will get us into STT ahead of schedule.

BTW, this is a special trip for us. Not only does it fall within our Anniversary, but its also Jackie's 60th B-day. (A Full Moon the day before!) And both children flying down to join us .... plus, some of the Out-Laws.

Thanks for your thoughts/suggestions.

Go for it...you only save about $10 with a taxi and she's well worth it!

Hey JohnM, I too am almost in my 30 day window (33 days to be exact) and my 60th is in June also.
If you and Jackie go to Miss Lucy's Full Moon Party on the 4th, give me a shout-out...I should be there!
Never took Rachael's taxi but she seems to be the way to go. Good luck and hope to see you around the island.

It also depends on whether or not you are all alone in her van.

Clock ticking. Only three days.

I did book w/ Rachel. There will be another couple w/ us on the trip to Red Hook, but we're planning on the 300PM ferry from Red Hook, so will have ample time to get there.

Nancie ... We may just do Miss Lucy's FMP on 6/4. Look for the throng of 11 people!

We rode with Rachel last summer. She charged us $20 per person. The other taxis charge $15 per person and $3 per bag. The other taxis also stop wherever they need to along the way. Even if Rachel is higher, look at what the difference is and determine if it is worth it to you.
