Has anyone tried Ekaete Pink Corner in Coral Bay

I was reading Tradewinds and they had a little article about Ekaete Pink Corner in Coral Bay. They have our absolute favorite tropical ice cream - Soursop. If you've never heard of it, the name sounds odd, but its wonderful. She also has tropical juices like Tamarind and Golden Apple (not like U.S. apples).
Has anyone tried the food here yet? They just opened in November.

OMG, I'm so glad you posted. Excellent food, both West Indies and American. I had roti (homemade of course) and Blaine had a honey chicken and fries. Juice was awesome, but can't remember what kind. Homemade ice cream out of this world ( chocolate and soursop). And Esther was the friendliest, most helpful and passionate lady. She about cried, telling us about the boy who painted her signs.
We'll be back. Many times.
She wants to have a Caribbean buffet on Friday night but needs reservations so she can make the right amounts.
Thank you, B and J!

Yes, it was very good. We also had the roti but will come back to try other items. We were there in late March.

Thanks for the report! The Tradewinds article had a picture of her menu sign and I saw roti and curried goat - two of our favorites, in addition to soursop ice cream. We look forward to trying it in May. I hope she can make a go of it.

I have not tried their food yet. I just wanted to comment on Esther's husband Jerry. One of the nicest men I have met. Super kind people.

I can't wait to try. I checked out the tradewinds article and everything looks good. It will be nice to have on Coral bay side.

Let us know if you try the Caribbean buffet and what was on it.

Ekaete owner Esther Frett, above, serves up local treats like chicken roti and beef patties along with home-made ice cream and fresh juices.

Looking for some fresh, homemade sour sop ice cream?

How about a traditional chicken roti sure to transport one to the shores of Trinidad?

In the mood for finger-licking BBQ ribs complete with scratch-made sauce?

Anyone who is feeling a little famished should be sure to stop by the inviting pink structure right on the corner at the Coral Bay triangle, where Esther Frett is serving up all of that and more.

Frett and her husband Jerry have been working on the structure for a few years and opened Ekaete Pink Corner in November.

I was curious and really wanted to try it this trip, but, like many other things on the list, it didn't happen :( Definitely next time!
