Considering Harmony by the Pool and Simply St. John (& North) - experience good or not so good?
We (2 adults) are considering a trip in July. Have stayed on STT previously and visited St. John - this will be our first stay on the island. Will be doing lots of snorkeling at various beaches and looking for something comfortable, clean, relaxing, decent view, nice deck, safe and fairly easy access (we will be renting a 4wd).
Thanks!

Have you been that time of year before?
I wouldn't rent a villa that doesn't have a/c in July.

I have to agree about the AC. In fact, no matter what time of year, if the bedroom doesn't have AC we won't book it!

We did stay on STT in July. There was a/c available, but we didn't use it. The tradewinds & a fan were plenty to be cool enough. We were really only at the villa in the morning and late afternoon/early evening.

If you are OK with no AC then I would pick St John Livin.
I like the view better.

I stayed at Simply St. John for my late Feb. trip for 8 Tuff. I loved the location and the views. Not so happy about the noise from the house right next door (a baby that cried constantly.) I'm planning to do a villa review but I'm waiting for my security deposit refund... which has been promised twice. (I wanted to comment in the review about whether it was tough to get the refund, plus the owner said he'd give me some extra back to make up for the crying baby.)
It's a basic house, but I'm pretty low maintenance so I liked it. Nice deck, workable kitchen with everything I needed (no DW but there were only 2 of us.) Never needed AC because of the great breezes and there's a ceiling fan, but then again I was there in Feb.
Let me know if you want to know more.
