Last yr my fins tore my feet up..even with snorkel socks on.
So..Ive been looking at fins...has anyone tried the Wide feet fins? I have wide "Fred Flinstone" feet and thought these might work...any input from anyone who has them?

Thanks !!!

I have not heard of the fins you mentioned but I found these for my 13 4E son. He used them in Belieze and they didn't hurt for a change!

I have Fred Flintstone feet too but never knew that fins come in wide sizes - will file that away in the memory bank for future reference! I've only had one year with problems with the regular width fins I'm using now and my conclusion was that I got sand inside my flippers during my haste on the first day of snorkeling and once I got some abrasions it just went downhill from there. Since then I've been very careful to only put on my fins in deeper water (waist to shoulder depth) after thoroughly swishing them around to remove any sand that got inside. That seemed to eliminate the problem since. Someone on the forum also noted that putting duct tape on the spots where the fins rub also works really well to cushion tight spots - bandaids just won't stay on. I bought a roll of clear duct tape (the silver is just too "redneck") to throw in my snorkle bag but haven't really had to use it on my fins as long as I avoid the sand. The great part is that you can find plenty of other uses for the duct tape while on vacation and you have it right at hand when you need it.

This is the pair I was referring to...I should have posted the link first I guess to see if anyone had tried them..
Im sure sand was the culprit behind my problems last time..even my socks had sand in them..I had not thought about the duct tape idea...might just work..definetly wouldnt hurt..but my fins are full foot and are hard to get on anyway..so Im looking for another pair for this trip and ran across these. Last time (after the foot incident) I rented a pair of open heel that snapped on..I liked those much better and they were easy to put on the water..but found these and just curious if anyone had tried them..here the link:

I have wide feet and use the US divers short travel fins. They have not been a problem, and I do not use socks.
