Just a friendly reminder that on Good Friday you can't purchase alcohol at any restaurant, store, bar etc until 4pm - you may drink your own alcohol purchased before Friday :)

The law only applies to bars and restaurants...right?? I think you can still buy alcohol at the store.

As far as I know no sales in stores either - on STT they used to cover the shelves with a drape (according to STTResident)

Looks like the stores are exempt... here is an article on the St. John source saying

'Distilled liquor and “drinks prepared therewith shall not be served in public places of refreshments” between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Good Friday”

That kind of sounds like beer and wine are ok too. I guess I will find out this morning when I go to work. There are always a few guys I see with their morning beer :)

Oh No

What’s this world coming too – STJ, a dry island? Who ever heard of a Caribbean island with no alcohol? No Bushwhackers, no Pain Killers, no Rum & Coke, no Vodka Martini and the list is endless. Well, it’s probably not a bad idea. Remembering what Good Friday is all about, makes your soul feel good. Plus, gives your liver a rest. Happy Good Friday to all.
