Is there any benefit to Oct over Nov, or Nov over Oct. Or is the weather just the luck of the draw. Thanks

Our normal trips to StJ occur in late Nov or early Dec. Usually the week following Thanksgiving but once the week prior. We have always had phenominal weather although one trip we had that was end of Nov/beiginning Dec we came in following a storm system and we caught one half day of torrential rains resulting in cloudy snorkeling and mosquitos at the end of our trip. The water temps are wonderful and the beaches are always sparsely populated some even deserted. We always have found everything open at that time.

We've gone in either Apr or May every year for 6 years. Last year we also went last week of nov, 1st week Dec. It was perfect. Water was still warm like summer. Christmas winds had not yet started, and the island was GREEN. Often in Apr/May everything was dead. Stayed on the SE end of the island, and even there in the more desert area everything was green.

Our favorite time is around Halloween. Lots of energy and most everything is open after the off-season.

Cheers, RickG

We always go in October. Less crowds...miss a few of the good eats...but still more than enough choices. Only one year did we get the short end of the stick, thanks to Lenny!

We've always gone in November to take advantage of the lower prices during the "shoulder" season before all of the rates go up. It's been just fine. We did hit one year with more rain, but the entire winter was stuck in that weather pattern so it would not have made a difference. I don't think that the air or water temps vary enough to make one better than the other and even if it rains part of the day you can still enjoy the island. Just keep in mind that alot of the businesses close down during Sept and Oct for the "off" season and then reopen around the first of November. It depends on whether that's an issue for you.
