We are going to have our grandchildren with us for the first time in June. Hubby and I usually eat at Shipwreck Landing and Morgan's Mango. Never thought about taking children there. They will be 10 by June. What are some places we can take them that has menu items that are good for kids. Don't want it to always be hamburgers for them. We plan to eat dinner out 3-4 nights of the 7 we are there. Thanks for any ideas you can share.

we have taken our kids to shipwreck and morgans with no issues ,--high tide, banana deck, aqua bistro (the portions are HUGE) and pretty much every place else! if they are good eaters then you shouldn't have any problems! my kids loved sweet plantains, and la plancha (we had christmas dinner there when they were still in the market place)

My kids enjoyed the Sun Dog Cafe in Mongoose Junction.

They are twins, 1 is a good eater who will usually try different things but the other is a little picky.
Yes, I think they would enjoy Shipwreck but I guess I thought of Morgan's as being a little "spicy" for them. Maybe not!

Last June, our group had 4 girls all aged 9 & 10 (2 kids are very picky eaters & 1 has a dairy allergy). We just called ahead to confirm a traditional kid's menu. We ate at Morgan's Mango, High Tide, Plancha del Mar, Lime Inn, Rhumblines, Cafe Roma, and others. It seems that everywhere has chicken nuggets, pizza, burgers, and so on.

Shipwreck has a ton of stuff on their menu that is appealing to kids. I took my niece and nephew there twice last summer. They also enjoyed Skinny Legs.

I didn't know that La Plancha del Mar has a kids menu. That is good to hear.

We eat out nearly every lunch and dinner on STJ and having travelled with our son since before he ate solid foods, I have found that nearly every restaurant is willing to modify dishes for smaller eaters.

I always keep my requests reasonable (along the lines of light on the jerk seasoning please) and never had any push back from servers. (Well, we did once but that was a very strange situation where the manager relieved the server of his duties.)

We were there over New Year's & I wanted to eat at La Tapa on New Year's Eve. Our kids are 8 & 10, 1 eats everything (mussels, sushi) and one is pretty picky. I emailed Alex several weeks before our trip & she could not have been nicer. They will do pasta, grilled chicken, etc for kids, you just have to ask.

Ours kids were 9 and 11 on our first trip to STJ. Lunch on our first day was at Miss Lucy's (and we had a dinner there once too) and they really like it. They got a kick out of the goats that wander around near there. Extra bonus: you can get some good roti for yourself!
