T&E trip report - Day 1 1/27/12

A little about us: We are Tami and Eric from a little town in NorthEast Ohio. We look forward to STJ around this time every year to get out of the elements of the Lake Erie snow belt. Me (Tami) is 46 and Eric is 51. We also have very stressful jobs (me, I'm an IT geek), and Eric is your typical cable man. I will try to post each day our adventures. I hope you enjoy STJ from our point of view. I must warn you though, we are pretty boring people, but I'll try to make this entertaining!
Travel Day:
Was up bright and early at 1:30 am, and we were out the door by 3:40. Flight out of Cleveland was uneventful, and we thought we were going to get lucky in Atlanta, because we didn’t have to change concourses… Well, that was not to be. We were stuck on the plane, and delayed 45 minutes, due to some maintenance issue and paperwork (?) We taxied out about 45 minutes late, and man did our pilot haul some a$$, because we only arrived in STT 15 minutes past our original arrival time!
We arrived in STT at approximately 3:00 pm, and by the time we got our luggage and got a taxi it was 3:30. The taxi driver had to stop downtown to drop off people at the downtown ferry, and by the time we got to Red Hook, the ferry was just pulling out. Booo… Oh well, I was a tad bit irritated, but that soon disspelled as we were in our second HOME! So we sat down at the bar, had a beer and waited till the 5:00 ferry. Uneventful ferry ride. Collected luggage and met up with Tammy from Seaview Homes. Nice gal. She took us over to get our car at Cool Breeze (who incidentally waited for us - Yay Cool Breeze), then on to San Costanzo, which will be our home for the next 7 days.
We unpacked and are pretty exhausted. We ordered a pizza from Ronnie’s pizza (recommended by Tammy), and are having it delivered. Then we are calling it a night.
Big day tomorrow – an extended sunset cruise on Kekoa. I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about this boat. Looking forward to it.
