Scott Beach

I remember snorkeling at Scott Beach one afternoon several years ago, but we accessed it from the water while on an excursion with a sailboat.
This trip, we plan to rent a dinghy while on St. John. Is it okay to pull up to a mooring and tie up and swim in to snorkel? I recall seeing so many starfish, conch, rays, turtles, and even a family of squid.
Scott Beach is not listed on any maps. I remember there being the wedding gazebo off to the right up on a small bluff. Is that the best way to identify it?
I've been reading so much about the whole Caneel attitude thing and it infuriates me.
Thanks for the post with the article in the paper on the topic.
