Let the Trip Planning Commence! October or June?

Now that the holidays are over, I need to get started planning our annual trip to the rock.

We typically travel to St. John in June. In 2011, we visited St. John during the last week of October on a sorta-last-minute trip. We absolutely loved it!! Very quiet, cooler temps, perfect blue skies every day we were there. I feel like we got pretty lucky with the weather.

We like June but is it worth the wait (and weather risk) to go late October again this year?

Thanks everyone and Happy New Year!

Well that depends. If you are Irish, like me, Murphy's law will kick in. Otherwise you should be fine. :) If you can get travel insurance that covers weather it would be worth it, tho.

We were on STJ during exactly the same week this year! It certainly was perfect weather. We love STJ in October - been there during that month 6 out of the last 7 years. Never had any bad weather to speak of; and other than a restaurant or two being closed (Lime Inn!), we absolutely love this time of year to visit. Just don't tell too many people - we like how quiet it is in Oct.!

Have spent the last week of October in STJ the last 5 years. The weather has always been fantastic and the Halloween party at Skinny's is worth the wait in itself. Have fun planning!
