I'm glad you pulled that back up. I like that thread too.
I'm trying to come up with a way to keep our food frozen once we get to St. John. I'd like to take a cooler full, but we are staying in a condo that just has a mini fridge for 3 nights before we move into our villa. The freezer area will probably be tiny.
I'd love any suggestions!

KYgirl - does the stuff need to stay frozen for those first three days? Or is it ok if it starts to thaw?

In 2008, door-to-door our trip was more than 36 hours and our stuff was still frozen solid. We used a Polar Bear and I lined the top and bottom with a sheet of techiice and put a layer in the middle of the cooler as well. I had our butcher vac-pack and deep freeze everything so when it went into the cooler, it was as frozen as it could be.

In addition to packing the cooler very tightly, keeping it closed is essential, no peeking!

As the original poster of this thread, I should say this is quite funny because I JUST went to find my polar bear cooler last night in the attic for our trip in February.
My food remained partially frozen for well over 36 hours in our cooler!!
Trying to decide what to pack this tme around! Def bacon for breakfast and meat for sandwhiches. We also shipped 2 boxes ahead and this worked out GREAT!!

I guess it could be starting to thaw. I think everyone in our group is arriving atleast a day early, so maybe a dinner in our first night in the villa could be fun!
