Viva villa rep time

I had heard that the villa rep would take us to the villa after we got to st john. I called Viva with our last payment and meanwhile I asked if we could stop to pick up takeout (preordered) and the person on the phone (Sherlynn) said that there was no time for that. I also asked would the villa rep stop with us at a grocery store and she said "Not unless you arrive after 7 pm" I was under the impression from this board that the villa rep would do one of those things. We arrive on STT at 3 pm, so I guess we should be in st john around 4:30 or 5 pm. I'd rather not drive up to the villa (Sapphire Breeze) and then want to drop ourselves down and then drive back to Cruz Bay. Has anyone else had Viva, and do they indeed not allow you anytime in Cruz Bay prior to taking you up to your villa? Just trying to get a bearing on our first day.... Which will be great regardless, just want it to get here!

I am not sure about Viva, but when I had to do villa pickups when I was a rental agent on STJ there was never enough time. In most cases, the rep will meet you take you to the rental car company, get you to the villa and head right back to the ferry dock for the next pickup. If you get there too late there is no place top park and then your next guests will be at the dock waiting for you.
We send down a box of non-perishables and carried on a cooler with some snack foods. We got to the villa and were able to have a quick snack before heading back out to dinner.
You can also have the house provisioned for you or just have dinner waiting for you. There are many companies that will do that for you.

Dear Starfish,
I too am renting from Viva, and Sherolynn is our rep too. We will be arriving around the same time as you on our trip, my plan was to go straight to the villa, get unpacked and settled in then freshen up a tad and head somewhere for dinner. Figured I would go to the store in the morning since I wake up early and let the others catch up on sleep. FYI we didnt rent Sapphire Breeze we took Luminera.

Thanks, guys. I guess from reading this board I heard lots of trip reports where the villa rep took people to the grocery store, etc on the way to their villa so I was surprised that viva said couldn't do that. I don't really want to shop, just wanted to go to the beach bar and get a few things for take-out (they said I could call ahead and it would be ready) just surprised that Viva said I couldn't do that. We'll probably just put our stuff down, jump in the pool once, then head out to dinner at the Beach bar anyway. Thanks for your response.
