Driftwood David's - Cruz Bay

Just got a tour of the brand new restaurant called Driftwood David's in Cruz Bay! It's gorgeous with beautiful ocean views, huge windows, vibrant island colors and some of the friendliest staff around. The drink list has my favorites, the Bushwacker and the Painkiller, along with some new ones I want to try like the Green Monkey. The owner David, said they should be opening on Tuesday or Wednesday. The menue sounds fantastic. I can't wait to try a Dangerous Dog... And live music every night. Sounds perfect to me.

Sounds like fun. I do have a question about the ocean views - aren't they located in the old liquor store then old strip club location next to the old WAPA? did he add windows? as the direction before always looked out at Penns - I'll have to pay more attention when I drive by next week

Possibly you can see a little corner of the Creek and the customs dock from the outdoor table. Mostly you'd see traffic and Penn's yard.

How long ago was there a strip club on STJ? I don't recall that.

You wouldn't have noticed it unless you were hanging around the lumberyard late at night. I think it was there until the owner was arrested in the big drug bust earlier this year. There was huge talk about it on the forum when it opened, but, oddly, nobody ever mentioned it in a trip report

I agree it is opening - the part I was questioning is "with beautiful ocean views" as it makes it sound like Waterfront Bistro, High Tide etc where the view is concerned when really it is a view of the ferry dock over Nells building - not a bad view but not (imo) "beautiful ocean views" -still all good restaurants are a welcome addition on St John and I wish them great success and a wonderful opening season

our favorite reporters from on St. John just did a feature with photos about this place today. Anthony, I guess you have to take it as a compliment that people choose your website even if they don't want to pay you to advertise. Either that or it must be the valuable and extremely intelligent members of the forum they are trying to target
