Do you have to pay the $3 bag fee for carry-on pieces such as backpacks or computer bags? I would think that any bag that would be thrown (literally) into the back of the ferry should require a bag fee/tag and items that you would personally carry and keep with you should not require a tag/fee. Is that correct?

We just paid for the bags that they took. Our personal stuff I did not pay for.

We did not pay for the bags we carried ourselves.

I've only payed for the checked bags too

Seem like a read something a few months back about a local Senator at large getting kicked off the ferry for refusing to pay for his briefcase. Maybe this opened up some eyes.
