Starting my search for airfare, what day does everyone think the best day of the week to purchase airfare is? I heard they release new flights on Tuesday, not sure if this is a myth or not. Finding flights for $1100 for us leaving Boston and getting to Charlotte at 130pm.. cant decide if I want to ride it out or bite the bullet?!! We are arriving Feb 24th, I cant imagine the price will go down any? Anyone with more knowledge care to help me make a decision?? :P

Have you checked Jetblue out of Boston. They just added five nonstop flights to STT i just changed my flight to leave four days earlier and the price was only $149 one way! You are flying during February school vacation which is always higher.

Yeah I did.. the cheapest one way they had was 346 for a 12 hour flight!
According to Bing travel it says " wait" prices are dropping. And my husband said that gas is going down. Soo, I will wait another week( maybe) and bite my nails.. LOL

Not sure what day you're returning, but I just looked up some roundtrip fares on http://matrix.itasoftware.com, and saw some fares around $411.

Good luck is all I can say. To me this is the worst part of what otherwise is an exciting and fun time to plan your vacation in paradise. Back in November I bought tickets from IAD to STT on Continental for $662.10 each and TODAY those same tickets are $1,042.10 a piece. Good grief...what the heck is up with ticket prices??? To wait or not to wait is the hardest decision to make.

We have been watching airfare from JFK to STT for May and have seen it go up twice in the last 6 weeks.
We went ahead this weekend and bought our tickets. I really don't see fares going down.

Maybe you can look at flights out of Hartford? I purchased a roundtrip flight for $380 on JetBlue for travel at the end of January. It's a bit farther for you but may be worth it.

clear the cookies from your computer before you go back onto an airline website so they don't know you were just there checking the price or else you may see a higher price

Yes, I would have to agree this is the worst part. I have checked alternate airports, not much of a savings. I will try deleting the cookies and try again. I did find non-stop with Jetblue for 600 each, oh so tempting...
