Hey gang,

We'll be staying at Cielo Vista, which is on Gift Hill Rd. Everyday I look at a large copy of the NPS map of STJ that I printed out on the plotter at work, and I find myself wondering where along Gift Hill Rd. the villa is.

GHR looks to run mostly north-south from Centerline south to a road that goes to Cruz Bay.

Some of the landmarks between those two points that I can see on my map are Gift Hill, a series of switchbacks, and a hospital (that may actually be on Centerline).

Can any of you fine folks give me a more pinpoint location for Cielo Vista?

Just drove past Cielovista several times a day this past week. It is on Gifft Hill Road. Going east from Centerline Road it is just past the entrance to Virgin Grand Estates. It is right next door to (before) Villa Capiz and then Hummingbird Hill. I don't yet know how to send a location from Google Earth but the coordinates are
18°19'36.96"N Latitude
64°46'37.31"W Longitude
I may not have the house exactly pinpointed because Google Earth doesn't have the most recent view of the area including construction, but it's right there.
On a map, the road does a sort of squared off horseshoe shaped turn. Cielovista is at the western corner of that turn.
It it right on Gifft Hill Road so no long driveway.

When we were at Villa Capiz 2 years ago, it appeared that there was a new villa in its final stages of completion just next door. The owners were there finishing up some painting and arranging furniture inside and outside the house on the porch or deck.. You could not see the house from Villa Capiz(only from the driveway as you made the first turn down to the Villa Capiz property)but as I recall at night you might be seen in the upper bathroom of Villa Capiz from Cielo Vista and think I had to close the shutters on the bathroom window at one point. We also heard some building going on below the sight lines between Capiz and Cielo Vista but now realize that it may have been the construction of a house in the Virgin Grand Estates to the right of Villa Rapture. You could not see anything but you could hear the hammering and the workmen yelling to each other.
This area of Gift Hill has views you could just die for.
