Sunday on the island

Arrived on Wednesday to a beautiful blue sky. Last year we arrived to rain. What a difference! Beaches so far..... Jumbie...Must be more people here this year or the word has gotten out as to how nice this little beach is for limin'. The parking lot was full when we left for lunch.
Snorkeled Haulover north and south on Friday. The sea is very calm, making for easy entry on the north side. There was a small amount of seaweed on shore, but nothing in the water. We saw a sting ray, turtle and a very large puffer fish on the south side. Good morning, followed by lunch at the Tourist Trap, our first time. While the fish taco was quite good, the hot dog with pulled pork was amazing. Nice meeting and talking to Larry.
Saturday we explored the Catherineberg ruins and the Annaberg ruins. Sat on the shore by Leinster Bay with a beer and watched the pelicans catching their lunch. Then headed to Skinny Legs for our lunch. So hard to beat their burgers, which my husband had, but I really was hungry for some veggies....fabulous Greek salad. We then went to Francis bay for a bit. Beautiful beach, with chickens to keep you amused. I stood in the shallows reading for a bit and about a dozen fish decided I made a nice artificial reef. Quite amusing.
We had Uncle Joe's barbeque the first night and then have made dinner in the last few. Villa gravity sets in and the view is hard to leave. Starfish Market has their roasted chickens on sale for $5.99, so that makes for an easy start to dinner.....chicken enchiladas were great. Last night was shrimp on the grill.
Looking like another amazing day on the rock. Love the morning when the tree frogs are still chirping and the roosters are crowing. Fun start to the day. Will try to post another update tomorrow.
