Is it possible to use the PRIVATE Caneel Bay Beaches of Turtle, Scott, Paradise and Hawkesnest if you arrive by boat? Long ago you could just walk in but no more

I sure hope its OK. We did it last year from a boat on a snorkel trip with the Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park. Eagle Rays, turtles everywhere, nice water. We were respectful and stayed away from the Caneel people who were laying out on the beaches. No one seemed bothered by our presence.

Sort of. There are no dinghy channels at these beaches so you cannot approach that way. However, there are mooring balls at Scott and Hawksnest (not Turtle because of the current and the proximity to the boating lanes) so you could moor and then swim in if the distance does not bother you.
If you do this, remember not to use the beach chairs or the floaties as they are for Caneel guests only.

There were a couple of snorkel boats that stopped and snorkeled Scott Beach when we were there. Some of the snorkelers sat on the beach and rested before their swim back to the boat but none used the chairs which are there for the guests only.

Thanks for the answers guys....I think I'm going to try just to stay there for a few days like I did this summer so I can sit in a chair!

Back in May I snorkeled from Caneel Bay to Scott.I took my time and enjoyed the view along the way. There is a bit of distance between the two beaches, but it can be done.
