Today is my 33rd birthday!!!! I love my birthday, y'all. It's my FAVORITE HOLIDAY of the year. Yes, it's a holiday. Because I take my birthday THAT SERIOUSLY.
I LOVE being on St. John each year for the past 3 years on my birthday. I hope I have many more birthday years on-island!!!
We woke up around 7:45ish. TONS of RAIN and WIND from TS Emily throughout the night. The cistern / pump didn't hush all night!
It was EXTREMELY cloudy and windy today, so we decided on a non-beach day.
We headed to Donkey Diner for breakfast.

I thoroughly enjoyed my blueberry ricotta pancakes (2 - short stack), and my husband enjoyed his stuffed french toast (mangos / cream cheese filling). What are these in the "parking lot" at Donkey Diner?

Love these "grills" (aka hubcaps) also outside Donkey Diner:

We then headed to Love City Mini Mart to pick up some water since we forgot to bring water from the cottage. DOH! We only had EIGHT GALLON JUGS sitting there!!!
Had to get a picture of this on the way out to our next location:

SO TRUE. Why is this area of Coral Bay so STINKY?!?
We arrived at Salt Pond and headed towards Drunk Bay. This was a first for us this year - Drunk Bay. I've always wanted to build a Rock Person, so this year, we did! Because of TS Emily, the waves at Drunk Bay and wind were OUT OF CONTROL!!!
Salt Pond was relatively calm, though:

NO, I didn't leave my COCKS hat behind with my little man!

We enjoyed watching the birds around the Salt Pond itself.
Consider this a PSA - do NOT use the "bathroom" at Salt Pond unless it's an emergency. YIIIIIIKES!!! This facility actually SCARES me!!!

Then we decided to head to Annaberg. We went for the first time last year, and decided to revisit it this year.

Those crazy donkeys have no respect. They totally "defiled" Annaberg (in front of the windmill, no less!) with their "droppings."
Afterwards, we headed to the Marketplace for toilet paper, paper towels, cups, and plates. You know - fun stuff.
Then, back to the cottage to shower and relax before heading to La Plancha for dinner at 5pm.
We enjoyed the happy hour specials - $5 calamari, bruschetta, and the $8 pitcher of passionfruit sangria. We split the paella (deconstructed, minus mussels) since I knew I wanted dessert (pineapple flambe over johnny cake). This place never ceases to amaze me. Fantastic food and drinks, as always!!!

They comped me a glass of champagne (Happy Birthday to me!!
), and we headed out at 6:30.
We went home, relaxed, watched Big Brother (OMG - Jeff was voted out last night [real time] - GASP!!!), and I called my mom so my family could sing Happy Birthday to me!
What a great 33rd! Can't wait to see what next year's birthday holds!
