I've used Cool Breeze a couple of times, and although they're definitely on island time, they always had our reservation. You might try emailing them and asking for a confirmation to make sure. That way you can print out their reply and have it with you, just in case there is a problem. I don't suspect there will be though. Good luck!

second what Kentucky girl says--we have never had a problem in 15 or so times renting with them--just give them a call --sometimes their email is a bit wonky....and there is the island time thing....

The only way I make any arrangements in the Caribbean is by calling people up on the telephone and talking to them directly. This approach may make more sense once you see the Cool Breeze office. People have a different lifestyle on STJ and do business differently. I never bother with faxes, emails or voice mails.

yes, i'd heard that before so i did call them directly and they instructed me to print off their res. form and fax it back and they would email me a confirmation. been a couple weeks so i'm just wondering do i have a reservation or not? maybe it's just the "island time" thing...?

You might want to call them again. They're the only ones who have the answer.

We just used them end of June beginning of July. I had to call them at least 3 times to make sure everything was in line with my reservation.

I also did not have a good experience with them once I got there. I went through 3 vehicles in my 8 day stay there. I know some dont like "negative posts" but sometimes things must be said. The first two vehicles I was just happy to be on St John and I just rolled with it, but the third......thats when it got semi ugly.

In the end, they refunded a portion of my deposit because of the problems I had and made it "right", but I will not rent from them again. Maybe mine was an isolate experience. You can PM me if you want more info. Sorry guys for the negativity but......

wow, i am sorry to hear that! I know that their fleet isn't always the most pristine, but they have always been super receptive to us-we had a seatbelt issue with our wrangler and since i didn't want to get ticketed for not using the belt (and we couldn't seem to fix it) they gave us another vehicle this one a 4 door and didn't charge us the difference (which they shouldn't) but also didn't begrudge the 1/4 tank of gas since we had to make an extra trip into town--now i will grant you that the second vehicle had a lo tire warning light on, but we put air in and the light was still on and it didn't seem to have any impact on driving....
sorry about your bad experience
