Any recent experiances with Cactus on the Blue? I see they had a period of really bad reviews but before and after seem very favorable. Did they just run through a rocky patch?

I'm thinking about making this the first stop when I pick up a group of friends from the ferry. Four of them are first-timers, so I want to make sure their first impression is a good one.

We ate dinner there on the 4th of July. We didn't write a review, but it was very good. None of the three of us had any complaints.

I was there in July and had a wonderful experience. Great food and fast, terrific service. We had a great time watching the chaos over at the Beach Bar too!

Another thumbs up from us

We were there on July 4th! The food was great and the service was too.

We ate there this past May and last year and both meals were very good! Actually had leftovers for another night.

We had a group of 8 for dinner there in June and everyone was very pleased with their meals.

We were there on August 14th... We weren't that hungry and just ordered chips, guac, and salsa along with drinks. The place was dead, the waitress was nice, the food was good, and drinks were expensive (but HUGE.) We were a little taken back when the bill arrived as they charged us $18 for "nachos" (when really we had just ordered chips)+ $3 salsa + guac. My boyfriend, kindly inquired with the waitress and she apologized and took the "nacho" charge off our bill.

We ate there last November and had great food and service.

I hate to be contrary, but our least favorite meal during our April trip was at cactus.

For starters, I informed the waitress that I have a severe food allergy to black beans and asked if they were in the burrito. She checked and told me no. Yet when I got the burrito there they were. Since our food was slow coming out I ended up eating after my husband was done. His food was cool when he got it.

We also were unlucky enough to be seated next to a large family with super tired kids (it was late). They all bickered and argued the whole time (including the parents). That was fairly annoying.

My frozen drink sounded great (I think it was a featured drink that night) but it was like water.

Our food was nothing special and the service was not good. I presume we caught them on an off night, because I know people like that place, but I wouldn't bother to go back.

We were there in June. The porch was breezeless, the food was just ok, the service was fine. I probably would not waste another dinner out opp. on them. There are too many great places. to go.
