Just reading some weather forums and saw some interesting tracking models. Invest 97L is starting to ramp up (NHC is giving it a 40% chance of development in the next 48hours) and has the "potential" to track right through the VI/BVI/Puerto Rico (+90hours). Granted it's early and anything can happen.

Here's to hoping it falls apart, and maybe just fills up some cisterns.

Stay safe.

Well that Invest certainly developed and Much Earlier! than predicted - at this time of year constant attention to impending systems is necessary - tracking models are just that - models - and things can change rather quickly - the VI actually dodged a bullet with TS Irene even though it was quite a storm it had considerably less wind than a Hurricane and the damage and inconvenience should serve as a wake up call to everyone to prepare for any storm well ahead of the predicted arrival time, put small faith in a predicted tracking model, monitor your favorite weather satellite and radar sites and as the old timers always tell me " Prepare for the worst and pray for the best scenario"
As of 11 am Tues. STX still has quite a few areas of no power and limited cell service and internet island wide. Forecasts are hours behind the reality of a storm situation and vigilance and attention to radar and satellite loops are crucial to safety.
