TR Day 11 & 12, methinks

We've lost track of time....how in the world could that have happened?
Day 11 started off rainy, so we hung out for a while until it began to clear. We were gonna go out to L Lameshur again, so I kept checking the 3 VI webcams that are out in that area so I could see the actual weather there. By the time it really began to clear, we decided to go to Skinny's for lunch. Both of us had a *good* burger for lunch, and we split a crisp, fresh salad. Then we decided, as long as we were there, to do some shopping in the shops there, both for ourselves, and friends/grandkids, etc.
Well, by the time we got to L Lameshur, it was 4PM and sunny. No one else at the beach. But by the look of the road to get there, it had rained very recently. No one at L Lameshur when we arrived, and we soon found out why - bug city! No-see-ums, gnats, flies, all were aroused by the late afternoon and recent rains, evidently. We went in the water, and they were somewhat obnoxious even 50 feet from shore. So we packed up and left, even while 4 other families were arriving to the beach.
Day 12 - Got up early, went to Trunk Bay. Since we got there before 10AM, even though it was Sunday, found plenty of parking, and found a great shady spot on the right-hand side of the beach. Our first snorkel was out to the right, going around the rocks over toward Peter Bay. On our way out there, we saw this flounder, you'll see him in one of the first pics. Almost missed seeing him, you can see why.
Came back in, but before beaching it, we decided to snorkel the right side of the island in Trunk Bay. Are we glad we did. Shortly into the snorkel, we saw a group of 3 and also a single large mackerel! And then in pictures 12 thru 15, the most amazing thing happened! We had just found and started following these mackerels, and suddenly there was this huge splash downward into the water, just above the mackerels. At first I thought it was some snorkeler, diving down. But Sylvia started snapping the camera, and it turned out to be a pelican, diving right into the mackerels (which were surrounded by silversides) to feed! She got the pictures of the initial dive, then a couple with just his feet and bill showing, and then an above-water pic of him sitting on the surface. Great stuff!
Lots of pics of the mackerels, which are at least 4' long, just astounding. And they were very docile, we could swim right up and very close to them.
On another snorkel, again on the right-hand side of Trunk Bay's island, we came right up on the largest barracuda that we've ever seen in our visits here. Got some great pics of him as well.
Throw in some feeding seagull pics, some snaps of Trunk Bay, and a final pic of one of the termite nests in the tree right above Sylvia's head all day, and there you have it.

We were there all day long, and loved it. Followed up with a great meal at Fish Trap that evening. Sylvia had her favorite dish on the island: Wok-seared tuna with vegetables and rice, covered with a delicious wasabi glaze or sauce.
