On a lighter note

FLaGeorge came over tonight. As we talked about many things going on in our lives and the senseless Va Tech tragedy over a few Land Sharks (a local Fl beer), we got around to the already named, but as yet unscheduled "tour" that will follow the DBFT. FlaGeorge has an absolutely phenomenal idea for the "Blind Mullet Tour" t-shirt. Unfortunately, it's too early to make public, but WOW, what an idea!

I guess the point is, even in the midst of all the BS life and the world throws at us, you have to keep a positive outlook so the other side doesn't win.

Thanks FlaGeorge for the best laugh I've had in days!

Good for you guys! As hard as it can be to do sometimes, I agree with your thoughts on keeping a positive attitude!!
I love those Land Sharks! We're working on our local liquor store to try to get them here. We also talked to Mixology about it and they said they are going to try.

FLaGeorge and Jorge forever ride me like a cheap woman of the night about the usual "cost effective" beer I drink, but Land Shark is definately my favorite!

You guys have the spirit, don't let the bastards get you down.

I just returned from an 8 hour roundtrip to pick up my nephew at Tech (he decided once classes were cancelled and all his friends started to depart that he did want to come home for a little bit). After a quite heavy convo with him on the 4 hour drive home, I needed a little forum time to lighten up.

Today I learned that family is not necessarily just those who are related to you by blood as this kiddo is my husband's oldest brother's son...However, I couldn't love him more if he was my own son. He could have called at 3 am and I would have been on my way.

I have to say I laughed out loud when about 1/2 way home he exhaled really deeply and said "aunt amy (yes that's my real name), I can't wait to get to your house and raid the fridge!"

Thanks to the entire online family for the thoughts for my family, Suzi's family, Jorge & his family, and all of the families of VTech. You guys really are great and I am proud to be part of this online community!

FF, glad you could be there for him. I hope he can exhale a lot more over the next few days.

Flip-flop, I'm glad you're nephew is safe and back home for a while. Give him a big hug from all of us!

As difficult as it is to find words for times like these, it's reassuring to see folks coming together. It reminds you that even with evil, there is good.

FlipFlop/Amy, I'm glad you could be there to get your nephew. I'm sure he needs the sanctuary of family right now.

Dr. Curly- I am not officially a part of the Post- DBFT, does it have to have anything to do with mullets?

Flip-flop, I'm glad you have him there with you now. It will be good for all of you.

Flip, Thank God your nephew is physically ok.

My bestfriend thinks this is some kind of cyberspace techno thing, and I keep telling her we are like best friends and family. She thinks I'm being reckless and silly. I don't know how to tell her you guys are some of my best friends and I know we will meet somewhere on STJ eventually.

Some loon could probably come in here and take advantage of all of us good souls, but then they'd have the wrath of the forum come down on them.

I do post/share things here I would never anywhere else on the internet, but what the hell. Everyone here is just as singlemindedly obsessed w/ STJ as I am or they don't last long.

I have made some friends for live on this forum ... yes, FlaGeorge, that would be you ... and I hope to make many more.

Ditto on what everyone said.
I am glad that your nephew is OK, FF.
I feel like I am friends with all of you too. My family thinks I am nuts and that I will be going to STJ in Nov. with some serial killers or something.
My kids think it is weird that I would actually meet some of you at the WI forum party. I tell them that this is "different" and they don't get it.
I wish all of us could have a big party in person sometime. :D
Other forums didn't even mention the Va Tech tragedy and I thought that was weird.

You should have seen the look I got from one of my brothers when I told him I was taking my camera to dinner so I could take some food porn pics. I am afraid of what went through his mind when i said that! He still looked skeptical even after I tried to explain it to him. He jsut said I hope you don't talk like that in front of Samantha (my 13 year old step daughter). I just had to laugh!
