The good news---it looks like we may miss Emily.
The bad news--- it looks like she is headed for my condo in West Palm Beach.
Sometimes you just can't win.

I was thinking the same thing - hope my condo in West Palm is OK.
And always ... best wishes for St John!

Ha! I think the definition of WIN is having a condo on West Palm and being able to vacation in STJ
Seriously, lots of time and water for this thing to turn away.

I'll be happy to house sit your condo and make sure it survives the storm. Just PM me for instructions on where to wire the money for my airline tickets.

The condo is 43 years old with the original furnishings and even the original Curtis-Mathis TV. It is an over 55 place where they look askance at you if you're under 80. You need a green bracelet to walk on a the grounds and a red bracelet to walk in the vicinity of the pool, not to mention to actually get in it. The rules are strictly enforced by an army of condo Nazi's who police the area constantly.
Wanna' go!!
But they do keep the pool at 94 degrees in the winter, and I have been going there since 1969, so I'm used to it. It works for the winter.
So yes, we are fortunate to have two places to vacation---but my husband wont go near one of them---guess where?
If the place blows away in a hurricane I'll have an assessment for more than the place is worth. And I have no insurance.
Now I would give it up for a place on St John, but that's not happening.

I hear ya' and feel bad for those who live in Dallas. My ex lived there and after he passed I had to go down there in the summertime and get it ready to sell. Thought I would drop dead in the shade. It is suposed to cool down here in NY later this week. It's been very hot here too.
Think we all need a trip to summer camp in the Adirondacks.

Caribert and Colleen, just got back last night. At 10:30 it was stifling at DFW! Very breezy in STJ and STT yesterday. Outer bands of Emily, I think. Rained a lot last Friday down there. Off and on all other days, except just a brief shower Saturday morning and NONE on Sunday. The weekend was gorgeous!! Enjoy! It was fun, even in the rain. Just better pictures underwater without it!

Welcome back, Backtotheislands. Welcome back to 110 degree temps (that's what it was yesterday and forcast for today). Wish you could have brought some of Emily back here with you!
