What kind of vegetables can you buy at Josephine's? We are headed down week after next and wondered what fresh vegetables we could buy there as opposed to buying at one of the markets.

Also, exactly where is Josephine's? I could not seem to locate it when we were down there in May.

Heading south (toward Salt Pond), turn right, after the Domino gas station in Coral Bay; go past the Love city Mini Mart; go on up the road.... :D

Does this road have a name???

lprof: I think it's called King Hill Road?

Patty: I got some nice green beans at Josephine's but was too late in the day to get any lettuce or other greens. We went in the afternoon, maybe around 3:00 or so, and were told that she sells out of many things by late morning. This was during holiday season, so I don't know if that makes a difference. But for the best selection you might want to go in the a.m. (Sorry I don't know what else she has besides salad greens and beans, but I think she grows several kinds of veggies.)

Checked out Josephine's this past May for assorted tomatoes,veggies, & sprouts.
That woman is an unbelievable breed;
1/3 agriculture engineer,1/3 magic, and 1/3 harmony.
It was a sincere delight meeting her, and the veggies were wonderful.
Every move she made was like a live piece of artwork.
Highly recommend visiting her!
If I remember correctly, you'll cruise past Love City Mini Mart, and find her on the left a little less than 1/2 mile. When you pull over to ask directions by/in a large garage, you're there!
Smiles-

We have seen: salad greens, sprouts, beans, spinach, okras, tomatoes, hot peppers, fresh herbs, etc.

What they have depends on the day. The last time we went there was the first time we finally got her tomatoes (mixed-colored, mini tomatoes). They don't offer an extensive variety of produce but what they have is very fresh and reasonably priced. Don't expect a nice storefront display of colorful veggies. It's just their garage with a couple of refrigerators. Highly recommended.

The place is called Coral Bay Garden Center (340-776-6167).

We just had a salad here tonight with some of her greens mixed with romaine lettuce, Very flavorful, almost too flavorful for me I liked them mixed with the romain but my honey loved them all by themselves.
She had a bunch of stuff, some kind of asian squash said it was like a summer squash. She had collards which I thought was cool cause I love them and grow them at home, Bunch of other stuff that I don't remember. Like was said road that Love city is on look to the left for potted plants then the garage that's the place.
