I am interested in learning how the local flora/fauna is/has been used medically. I looked on the NPS website to see if they offer anything and did not see that they do. Does anyone know of a local that offers this on STJ or STT? Appreciate any help, Laura

I would love to know too! Two I can think of off the top of my head are the seagrape and aloe plants, but I am sure that there is a ton more.

I am sure someone knows these people, but there used to be a local couple who sold homemade hot sauce at the market near the docks...I don't know with the redo of that area if they are around there.

Anyways, they might have some good info. I know they were selling some potions or juices of some sort. Like one was to improve your sex life.

Their hot sauce was awesome.

VIctor hall was one of the go to folks on this issues--but he has passed away--I am not sure if his daughter would have any information ---but she may--- if you look him up on teh on st john web site--you wil find someinformation

Standing behind several tables laden with plants, fruit, herbs and sticks at St. John School of the Arts, Anthony hosted “Medicinal Herbs,” a new seminar in the Friends 2011 seminar series."
