I am looking for any recommendations on renting sea kayaks on St. John. I am talking about 16'-18' full blown sea kayaks with spray skirt . I would rather not rent a set-on- top or rec. boat.

Thanks For any info.

We had contacted arawak about renting boats from them in the past--they would not rent. you can arrange to go out with them, but at least the last time we tried they would not just rent equipment. I don't know of any other outfitter who does.

Thanks! I am not really interested in doing a guided trip, so it looks like they are not going to work, but thanks for the information.
If anyone finds information on this please let me know.
I don`t think I can bring my sea kayak with me

kind of an expensve alternative would be to invest in a folding boat--we brought our klepper down (this was in the days before feathercraft had their really nice folding boats) and it was great to have it there--nowit's just toobulky a boat and would cost a fortune to bring due to luggaage charges (we haven't upgraded to nicer folding boats--but can't wait for the day we do--) in any event if you had ever thought of purchasing a folding boat--maybe now is the time!--you probably could find a used one on paddling.net....

I know Cinnamon and Maho are sit ontops.
That is strange about Arawak. I have independently rented from them over a dozen times. I just meet them at the store and they send me on my way-no guides, no group trips, just me and the hubby.I would ask again

summer. that is indeed intresting to hear--we have asked arawak and were told NO they do not rent-, but this was in high season, so maybe it is different in other seasons?--When did you rent? and who did you speak to?
thanks
