I know, I know...I could search for this, but I'm too lazy. I'm putting frozen meat and techni-ice in my Polar Bear cooler. I'm driving to San Antonio at about 4:30pm Saturday and my flight arrives at 3:30pm Sunday...Ok...that's not 24 hours. Has anyone traveled with your cooler for that period of time and what was the outcome???? :?

We spend the night at the EWR Hilton. Left our house at 5PM Tues. Got to our villa at 5PM Wed. Our steaks were still frozen solid but our frozen bacon had thawed but was still cold....Pack the bag as tightly as you can...TSA will open it and check it. (They always checks ours) As long as it's not squishy they'll let you go...Whatever has thawed the most, eat first.
Also, either add ice to the cooler first to chill and then dump it out or throwing it in the freezer overnight before filling helps.

My 24 can Polar Bear was so packed I could barely zip it. I didn't put in any technice (or anything like that) and after apx. 35 hrs. everything was still frozen solid. You could've killed someone with that brick of refried beans! LOL!

TSA gave my cooler an extra look and went over it with a cotton ball, but didn't open it, and let me go without any hassle.

We travelled over 36 hours with a cooler and it was just fine. Two things that I did that may (or may not) have made a difference.

1. My stuff was frozen solid, really solid. I had it vac packed and in the deep freeze at the butcher until right before I packed the cooler.

2. I lined the sides and top of the Polar Bear with cardboard then a sheet of techiice. I had one layer of techiice in the middle of the cooler.
