The wonderful USPS has screwed me twice. I'll never mail another box again using them.
Speaking of which.....are you sending mine back to me Ruth?

Wow, did it arrive via barge??
I've shipped down three times via usps--priority rate, with tracking and delivery confirmation, and it's always arrived within a week. I haven't tried this in a couple of years, but was going to this time. You have me rethinking some of the things I was going to send down in advance. Might be betetr to just check another bag.

There's a lot of stuff in the box, but I feel bad asking our wonderful property manager to mail it back to me at this point. It's been a complete PIA for her I'm sure.
Next time I'm definitely checking a bag. I feel like the odds, although not great, are better that it will actually arrive with me.

Ouch...that's terrible! I regularly send "care" packages to my daughter on St. John via USPS Flat Rate and it takes a minimum of 7 days but (so far) not more than 10. I just laugh when the USPS worker stamping the boxes tells me they should arrive in 3 days. From tracking the packages, they seem to languor in San Juan for most of the time (or at least that's where the tracking stops).

I must have gotten lucky. Mailed 2 medium flat rate priority mail boxes to STT and they got there within a week. With the two of us though, I'm sure we will still check one bag.

I've sent two priority boxes to STJ and they have both gotten there within 3 days! They must've just hit every connection just right! In fact, one of those boxes was pretty large, 18" x 18". I was absolutely stunned that it got there so fast!

If there's nothing perishable in it, see if she'll keep it for you and you can pick it up next time and use all the stuff on your next trip!

We were lucky enough to get ours when we arrived last trip, it was there @ 3 days before we got there.
Funny, the gal at Connections pre-warned us to mail asap because the mail sometimes gets "wonky" in Puerto Rico.
Hi Donna! We miss yous guys!
Smiles-

I really think the number of people who have had good luck FAR outweighs the occasional bad experience.
We have mailed 3 times, always there within 3-4 days....

We got lucky, our care box arrived at the Postnet store in three days. Now the hard part, waiting five days for us to get there.

"I really think the number of people who have had good luck FAR outweighs the occasional bad experience. "
Maybe...but I have to tell you that the "bad experience" really sort of stunk. It was also an inconvenience for our property manager who had to make several trips into Cruz Bay from Coral Bay to look for it and then had to refuse delivery.
Once you've filled a box with toiletries, sun block, spare contacts, etc. it can turn out to be worth a lot of money. Then there is the inconvenience and exorbitant (dare I say "rip off") cost of replacing the stuff. And, in our case, we kept thinking the box was going to arrive, so we bought very small items which then had to be replaced.
And did I mention that our property manager had a box mailed to her from her family in the USA the exact same day as ours, and it was also delivered to St. John the exact same day? Hmmm. Think someone is sitting on these boxes someplace?
Well, anyway, forewarned is forearmed.
