On my "Mid Life Crisis" report I forgot to mention about Cactus On The Blue.I ate there on night and found that I was very happy with the service, food, view, and prices. Why did I call my report "Mid Life Crisis" you ask? Well i'm 46 yrs old {mid life I think?}and have worked 2 jobs since Sept,2010.Monday through Friday,at a average of 12 to 17 hrs a day.I felt that constitutes the name "CRISIS!"

So funny, I just told our group that was on my list of restaurants I want to try. The menu looks delish and prices very reasonable. Where exactly is it...I checked the website and didn't see a location...we've been to STJ several times so we're familiar...thanks for your help...

it's the former location of Stone Terrace. Does that help at all?

I was just writing about Cactus in my trip report! It is right across from the Beach Bar next to the Banana Deck. We ate there and also enjoyed it very much. Great fish tacos and sangria.

Good to know. I seem to remember reading they got off to a sort of rocky start. Glad to hear it was a good meal for you all, will put it back on "the list"

We ate there in late April and thought it was so-so. Service wasn't great, frozen drinks were watery, food was just ok. Crying kids (plural!) close by didn't help. Maybe we just hit an off night, but we had a much better meal at Banana Deck (which I mention because it's in the same neighborhood).

We ate there last year and loved it. On our visit this past May we went back. Food and drinks were very good. We were going to go back for Cinco de Mayo as they were having some special events, but had reservations at Asolare that night. It was also a very reasonable (by St. John standards) meal.

We enjoyed Cactus on the Blue on our March trip. Good food, excellent Margarits, reasonable prices, attractive setting.

Good to knoow about Cactus On the Blue. We can definatly sympathize with you on the work thing, Capn Dan did it for 16 years, I did it in the summer for 10years. This year our place of employment (second jobs) burned down. Now we have to hunt for the money for STJ, but we think we will just stick with one job.
