Hot Mess Trip report Continued
Posted: Thu Jun 02, 2011 8:36 pm
I apologize for the delay in finishing this report. Life really got in the way and I already feel like I need another vacation. It seems that the hot mess part of the trip is over..no more insane craziness, I think!
Day Whatever
We wake up, me slower than Chip, after the night before.
We have 2 more days and a still quite a but left in the fridge. We brought food thinking that we would grill a few nights but our vacation had other plans so we needed to use up some stuff.
We had scrambled eggs with cut up hot dogs….Don’t judge
We needed the beach, the weather wasn’t great but we needed the beach so we loaded up and headed out to Francis to meet Bev and Steve.
We just kind of chilled out, doing not much of anything until it started to thunder and we packed up.
I have no recollection of what we did the rest of the day. Maybe a nap?
We had reservations at Zozo’s for sunset. I was really looking forward to it and we got a special treat.
The Maltese Falcon was sailing right in front of us. We got some great pics. Had a wonderful meal; Filet for me, Grouper for Chip, dessert and after dinner drinks. It was just wonderful.

We made our way into town and met up with Boston Mike and Nic at the Beach Bar. The Ish was playing and the place was packed.
I was full, hot, and tired, so we bid them goodbye and headed back to Harborview.
Last full day
After coffee, we assessed the food situation and decided on Lasagna for breakfast….don’t judge.
We packed up some random food, water, and beer and headed to Maho.
I just love Maho.
After a little while, we looked over and saw Bev and Steve, right next to us. We must have been in the beach zone to not see each other.
We stayed too long on the beach but Chip wanted to finish his book, we finally got too much sun, on our last day.
We had made plans to go see Beth (Betty) and Jim’s house and we needed to return their beach chairs, so we took the North Shore to Centerline and then down Gift Hill to their jobsite.
1. Their view is awesome
2. Their work crew is awesome
3. The house will be awesome
4. They are awesome
I am so very glad that we had the opportunity to spend time with them. They are just good people, building their dream. I can not wait to see their home complete and look forward to spending time with them in the future!
We raced back to Harborview, took showers and hopped back into the jeep. We needed to pick up Sharon and get to Into the Mystic for dinner. Bev, Boston Mike, and Me all together! It was great
Into the Mystic is a beautiful villa. Every little detail had been thought out and the view was great.
We had a great time. It rained and rained and rained. Thunder and lightning too! We didn’t care. We had a wonderful meal, birthday cake for Nicole, and dancing on the deck and with the mitten.

We stayed longer than we wanted to; it was raining too damn hard. We had a long, slow, wet drive back to Cruz Bay. Cruz Bay was dry, go figure. We looked out over Cruz Bay at night for one last time and headed to bed!
