Trip Report, Europe, Day Six..Versailles

Sixth Day: Versailles….
Before we left home I carefully studied the subway routes and determine how to reach all of our destinations….but you have to be ready to improvise. There was still maintenance being performed so instead of switching trains at one station, we had to leave our train route and take the metro. So it took us longer to reach Versailles than we thought….We elected to take a guided tour…so glad we did this…bypass lines, and it was very informative….made the visit so much more enriching. At this point I was wishing I had paid more attention in all those history classes.
First we toured the gardens.

Rick Steves advised NOT visiting on a Tuesday due to crowds…but this was the only day we could visit due to airline schedule. He was correct, it was very crowded.

Really enjoyed touring Versailles
Plan to spend the whole day here..
Next day....another flight....to Nice, France...begin our tour of the French Riviera
