Wine question

A few of my friends are big Reisling drinkers and were planning on bringing some down with them. Can anyone suggest a good spot to buy a decent bottle along with giving a round about idea of prices? Thanks for any info you can provide. Have a great day!

The best selection of wine we have found is at the gourmet shop of Starfish Market (the little store across from the main market). The prices are hit and miss. We have found some real deals on nice bottles that we would pay more for at home but most of the time the price is equal or slightly higher than what we pay in the mainland. Selection has never been a problem.

Agreed. That is where we shop for our wine. Most prices are comparable or a little bit more than what we pay at home. They also have a very nice selection.

This was also our experience. I didn't go in but husband and friends did and found nice bottles. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and the prices.

Capn Dan is our wine drinker. Cruzan is my weekness. We have found good prices at Love City Market, but like the Gourmet Shop too. I love all the other little tasty stuff there as well and they are so nice!

Thank you all very much. I am sure this should be enough to convince them that they don't need to bring it with them. Enjoy your weekend!

Barb, Relax Riesling is pretty widely available and not too hard on the wallet. Of course, it probably isn't as good as some of the Finger Lakes Rieslings.

If you are in Red Hook waiting for the ferry --- walk across the street to Marina Market and check the wine there - there is also a wine and cheese store in that same parking lot.
