Hello all, look at us,....finally we are showing up on the left under "Forum Members on Island"....to good to be true! Life just keeps getting better and better! First, before I forget, thanks to each and every one of you for being so welcoming as I asked questions, etc in preparing for my first trip to St John. Tommy says I know more about St John than he does and he has made the trip many, many times! Okay, one last question! What is your "one" must do on St John? I am going to prepare a check list with each of your names from it and see how many I do...kinda like a scavenger hunt! Happy Day....

That is a tough question but I think that my one must do is to spend the day at Maho.
Fill the cooler with lunch and drinks, grab a book and a beach chair and just sit.

I know it is right on the road and the snorkeling is good, not great like some other beaches, but there is just something so calming about that beach.

Have a great time!

I have to hike up to the Boys Home on the Johnny Horn Trail. It is so beautiful there and the view is amazing. There is even a picnic table if you want to take your lunch.
Enjoy your trip!

Can I do 2 things? Please?

Take a deep breathe getting off the plane (and again getting off the ferry) and feel ever so grateful!

A meal at Rhumblines!

My one thing is a sunset hike to Ram Head. If you're lucky enough to be there for a full moon, you can hit up Miss Lucy's for dinner after your hike.

It's really hard to choose but I guess I will pick visiting Francis Bay. On our first trip we went there almost every day and it is still one of my favorites for both relaxing and snorkeling.

I like to go to Hawksnest in the early morning by myself sit on the beach and reflect. Also i have to stop and see Ruth and Ron about 10 times.

I will share one of my children's musts - Smoothies from the stand on Centerline.

They even insisted we stop last July during a torrential downpour.

I find the rules for this game unfair -- ONE must do?!? There are so many.

Go to Skinny's for a burger and dreamcicle.

Go to Gibney or your favorite limin beach...place a cold beer in a koozie...go about 10 to 20 feet into the water where you just kind of float with your feet touching the bottom to keep you in one place even though you feel almost like your weightless...and do nothing but soak in all 360 degrees.

Take a drive along the south shore, all along Marina Drive, past Fish Bay and then up, up, up to the top where there is a sign that reads "You are Here"at the top of of the hill. Pull over and peer down at the massive waves crashing below on Reef Bay and see Ram Head in the distance. A must do.

I was going to say enjoy Maho. Then I thought about Uncle Joe's, then I dreamt about Rhumblines for supper in Cruz, that reminded me of Aqua Bistro (my favorite bar, tied with Shipwreck...fantastic conch fritters), then I remembered our outstanding "dinghy day" and which beach did we spend most of the day on...?-
Yup,- Maho. Never saw so many turtles in one place as we did just 2 short weeks ago in the rain. Deee-Lish!
(as long as I'm agreeing with pretty much all of the other posts, we also make it a point to stop at Columbo's for a rum filled smoothie as frequently as possible!)
I guess my "final answer" would be; by land or sea- Hit Maho!!! 8)
Smiles-
