Have you/do you/should we bring our snorkels and fins with us? Just our masks/snorkels no fins? Is it worth it to bring them?

Personally I wouldn't bother - no way I want to ........
1) walk back up all wet and salty (to me too uncomfortable)
2) schelp all that back up
3) beach has always been rougher thank I would want to snorkel

When we did Reef, we took our gear, but not to snorkel Reef/Genti Bay, but to take that spur over to Little Lameshur and do Yawzi (which we liked a lot)...but if we had it to do again, we would have simply hiked Reef and then driven over to Little Lameshur...Pia's right, no need to walk that much in a wet bathing suit.

As for Reef/Genti Bay, we didn't snorkel it, but can attest to it looking pretty rough with the waves coming in. And from all the books and sites I've read, I don't typically see much about snorkeling being recommended there.

We took all of our gear - mask, snorkel and fins - when we hiked the trail last month. The water was really calm when we were there, but there wasn't much to see underwater. We probably won't bring it all next time.

We loved the hike but I wouldn't have considered bringing our snorkel gear if we do it again (and we are avid)snorkelers. agree with all of Pia's reasons and it was nice to just enjoy the hike, the ruins, and the Petroglyphs!
