Wow- that's quite a hike! Have been interested in that one. How long did it take? We have been up to Windy Hill from Lienster but never all the way over. LOVE the view from Windy Hill. Gorgeous.

By the way- I love your soundtracks to these videos!!

From Brown Bay Trail head to Annaberg School is 3.76 miles including the spur trail to Windy hill and upto the Annaberg Ruins/mill.

I ran/jogged. It was about 45 minutes of running and 15 minutes of picture taking.

I think it would be about a 2 hours of walking. That will vary widely with hiking speed, time at beaches and ruins.

Thanks for the pics and video. We haven't done any hiking on STJ, so we enjoyed this very much. Love the view over waterlemon. That would be worth the climb up there.

Thanks for the info TIm! That's one I would like to do. Jogging it would be fun, too (as I head out to run in flat Dallas now ;-))

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, please note that the ruins above Lienster Bay are not Windy Hill- they maybe called the Leinster Estate House, the Murphy Estate House, or the Reform School, but I've no idea where the Windy Hill thing came from--Windberg, Windy Hill, is all the way up above Maho.

I was sort of hoping you'd chime in Hugo, because I still haven't committed the real name - Murphy Estate House - to memory and as I was watching the video I was thinking "dang... what's that really called." Whatever the case, deejayjay, that's one of my favorite hikes. Thanks for taking me there!

I did have two source that said it was Windy Hill

1) Page 89 of St. John Off The Beaten Track by Gerald Singer. It shows the exact same picture.

2) http://www.stjohnbeachguide.com/Johnny% ... rail.htm[/

I guess I need to do better reseach and find 3 sources before I publish. Looks like it may need to be corrected in a few sources.

Is there a good or recommend source for correct land marks on St. John?

Well, actually you only had one source, because the Beach Guide and Off the BT are the same person :?

You're right. I hadn't noticed that. I guess we'll just have to take Hugo with us everywhere. I'm sure he'll be eager. :)
