We are just a couple of weeks from our 5th trip to St John. This is the first time we have stayed on the Coral Bay side and we are looking forward to it. We have rented Island Dreams villa.
We have been over to Coral Bay every trip for a snorkle at Salt Pond and a burger at Skinny Legs but have done nothing else on that side of the island - I would love to know what your favorites are (restaurants, beaches, etc)
Thanks!

Shipwreck Landing for mahi sandwiches
Miss Lucy's for grouper reubens
Sweet Plantains for curry nights
Blue Cobblestone for deep water snorkeling
Princess Bay for kind of spooky mangrove snorkeling
Haulover North for beautiful corals
Miss Vie's beach for general liming

We love that side of the island!
Shipwreck-fish and chips, afternoon drinks with a breeze coming off the water.
Aqua Bistro-shrimp scampi is amazing, the food is all very good.
Island Blues-laid back, great to be able to eat a burger by the water, people have always been friendly.
We enjoy Vie's Beach too just for relaxing.

another vote for Shipwreck Landing for lunch or dinner, love the Fish n' Chips or any of the specials.
Sweet Plantains for great cocktails and more upscale dinner, love the curry.
In addition to Salt Pond, both Francis and Waterlemon are pretty close.

ALL the above!!!! Island Blues is our favorite hang out, they have music most nights and nightly dinner specials. Lameshur and Miss Vie's beaches. Aqua Bistro has excellent food too for lunch or dinner as does Shipwreck Landing and their presentation is excellent and their fruit drinks are fabulous!! I would suggest reservations at Shipwreck for dinner! We always stop to see Larry at Tourist Trap for drinks and munchies on the way back from Lameshur!! Good lobster rolls there! We pretty much never leave Coral Bay once we arrive, it's so laid back and we prefer the "country" side of the island!! Enjoy your trip!

I meant to ask, is Sputniks still out there in the Coral Bay area? I hope so, looking forward to the rotis, Laura

Laura, I don't think Sputniks is still there. I did see roti on the menu at Bordeaux, and I've seen it at Sogo's (neither in Coral Bay, but...)

We love ponzu tuna at Aqua Bistro and make sure we get some on each visit. They make Ponzu one night each week, think it was thursday last year. Sweet Plantains is another favorite and the menu schedule is on their web site I think. Also love Donkey diner breakfasts, barbecue and pizzas, Skinny legs burgers, Tourist Trap lobster rolls and Miss Vies fried chicken with a cold beer.

I second MJ's Ponzu Tuna at Aqua Bistro. It is an amazing dish, prepared by a terrific chef.It was always on Friday night.I have not heard anything about Sputnicks closing.Say it ain't so."
