Does anybody know anything about the injured pig?

I felt really sorry for the little pig that hangs out at the dumpster on Centerline Rd just outside of Cruz Bay. He has completely lost an ear and has a terrible facial/head injury. Does anybody know if anything can be done for him?

I don't know anything about the pig but while we were there in January there was a pretty sad looking cow with an eye injury. :(

Bless! As my daughter would say...Can I be the rescue person for sad animals?? I love the STJ rescue group and continue to contribute but do feel sad for the forgotten ones...

Greyhoundmom, I think you've found your calling on St. John! Now all you need is funding!

Chef Sam, I don't think I'd want to eat that particular piggie, he doesn't sound all that healthy!

By the way, welcome to the forum!

What is this, a Pig-Lovers-Anonymous blog? Just voicing opinion that there may be more to think about than sinking money into something other
than the animals that really need it at the shelter, than an unfortunate piglet! Focus on the shelter & the fact that you're in paradise for only a short time......enjoy rather than fret my dears! Tah-Tah....

Wow, Chef-whoever. I can't believe you'd want to slaughter a little helpless pig all for the sake of BBQ. Obviously, you don't care for the plight of small, helpless animals. Since you are a new poster, I hope you will re-think some of these replies

Very true, back in 2008 or 2009, I know that the park services was working to control damage to certain Agave species due to damage from feral pigs, mongoose, and rats.
I would think that not only do they cause damage to many plant species but carry disease.

I certainly do not want to see any animal in pain or suffering from an injury, but these pigs are not farm animals and cause destruction.
