Well, after too much coffee, I pulled the trigger and bought an Olumpus 770 SW... "Crush, Dunk and Freeze" did it for me...Now I will be able to document all Masonboro Manic and DBFT suspects! (I also ordered an extra battery)...Steve L sold me, Thanks buddy!

Make sure to get an extra memory card too! My newest camera literally could hold 2 pictures with the card it came with! Got the 2 gig and now I think I could get a whole weeks worth of pictures on there!

4GB cards are pretty cheap. I'd go as big as the budget will allow. The extra battery was a good move. I rotated batteries every day on our cameras just in case.

boatsus - I agree that you should have the screen filter on hand in case the reflection frustrates you. I'll be looking at one myself.

These guys sell screen protectors for a lot of digital camera LCDs.

There are others out there as well. Most screen protectors are also anti-glare filters, but not all.

RonL - Is that screen shield something other than the plastic stuff that covers your cell phone screen when you first get it?
I have picked up some screen protectors at Office Depot, but it was just that stuff. I am definitely interested in hearing more, and I can't tell from the pics.
Thanks,

BoatsRus - I recommend buying a spare battery as you'll get about an hour out of the camera with the auto-sleep mode turned off and the screen on a bright setting taking about 50 shots.

I have 2 back up batteries at all times! Nothing is more frustrating than going to take a picture and having a dead battery!

Hey Thanks you guys for all the input. I did get an extra battery. It should be here in 5-7 days so I'm gonna wait and see if it comes with a shield/filter, if not I have time to order one. Just found out that my next door neighbor who is a "kite-boardin' wind surfin', regular surfin' and anything else you can do to hurt yourself badly on the water type of fool" ...Whew, bought the same version last year that is good to 10 feet U/W. So, hopefully I can play with his for a while and get myself qualified!
