Ok, who has the best BBC and/or Painkiller recipe? I'm renting a blender and it comes with a villa, so bring 'em on!

I think The Beach Bar's recipe is my favorite:

Painkiller
A Most Famous Virgin Island Specialty
(for one drink)

1.5 oz Dark Rum
1.5 oz Orange Juice
1 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Coco Lopez
Fresh Nutmeg
(regular can be substituted)
Slice of Orange &/or Pineapple & Maraschino Cherry for garnish
Mix juices together in a cocktail shaker. Pour juices into a glass filled with ice. Add rum then top with a grating of fresh nutmeg (you can be pretty liberal with the nutmeg; see how much you like but it is a definite ingredient not just a garnish). Finish with a swizzle stick or straw. Painkillers are best made with Pusser's Rum and fresh nutmeg, both of which you can get here in St John. Our neighbors: St John Spice have fresh nutmeg and graters for sale.

Painkillers are, as directed here, not shaken.

Agreed that the Beach Bar is the best/simplest recipe, I've been using it for years now. The only change I make is that I make them by the pitcher instead of by the glass. I use the coco lopez can as a shotglass.

So it looks like this:
1 can Coco Lopez
1.5 can Dark Rum
1.5 can Orange Juice
1 can Pineapple Juice (if your using the small 6 paks of Dole juice, it's 2 cans)
Fresh Nutmeg to taste

That's different than the recipe I use, but I love BB painkillers, so I'm going to try it. Here's mine:

4 parts pineapple
1 part OJ
1 part Coco Lopez
2 parts dark rum (usually Pussers)
fresh grated nutmeg on top

Happy mixing! I'm going to make the BB recipe tonight I think- need to test that one

I use that recipe too (except with Cruzan dark). I have all the ingredients packed to go to Florida with us. I'll have to try the BB one too. I know I like them there!

Kentuckygirl- I just tried the BB version- yummy! ANd it did take me right to BB. They are both good, just a little different. I think our recipe is closer to the SDB version, inho. I would be happy with either one

Thanks for the painkiller recipes! I found this one for a BBC on Allrecipes.com:

Ingredients

* 2 bananas, broken into chunks
* 6 fluid ounces banana liqueur
* 6 fluid ounces Irish cream liqueur
* 6 fluid ounces coconut cream
* 6 cups crushed ice

Directions

1. In a blender combine the bananas and banana liqueur; blend until smooth. Blend in the Irish cream and coconut cream (Note: Make sure the coconut cream is at room temperature, or you will not be able to pour it). Finally, add the ice and blend until smooth.

Don't know if it's my favorite island drink or not, but it sounds pretty darn close!

stick it in a blender and whip it up!

Similar in Texture and Richness to a Bushwacker. This Lesser Known, Easier Prepared, Concoction Can't be Beat When the Banana is Really Ripe. Just Like in Baking, an Overripe Banana is Going to Be Delicious Here!
(for one drink)
* 1.5 oz Bailey's
* 1 oz Light Rum

* 1/2 of a Fresh Very Ripe Banana
Put all ingredients in a blender. Blend till Smooth.
We garnish with a cherry, but you may think of something more creative...

I don't know if what I made can be called a BBC or not, but it was really good.

1 banana
3 oz Bailey's
3 oz Cruzan Coconut Rum
3 oz Coco Lopez
Blend with ice, garnish with cherry.

Simple and tasty.
