From an earlier post, I pulled the crusie line schedule for the week we will be there. When the ships come in, what beaches should we avoid? What other places should we avoid? What time frames are we talking about.......do they usually stay in port thru the dinner/evening hours also? Thanks everyone!

Good morning--depending on how many ships there are, the north shore beaches (especially Trunk, Hawksnest and Cinnamon) and Cruz Bay can get pretty busy. The first groups start arriving by 9 am, but the good news is they are pretty much cleared out by 3-4:00. There have been days when we have seen more than a dozen tour/party-type boats at Honeymoon all at once. It used to be that they didn't really get out to the Coral Bay, far end of the island areas, but last summer we were crowded out of Vie's, Skinny Legs and the Tourist Trap one day because of tour bus groups from the ships. The ships also have St. John eco-tours, hiking tours and tours to Annaberg, you just never know how many are coming, it can be erratic. I checked the ship schedule for our trip in a couple of weeks, and that Wednesday there are more than 11,000 passengers (if the ships are full) arriving in STT along with several hundred more on one of the small ships that anchors off of Cruz Bay. Yikes! Might be a good day to have a villa day!!

Morning! I was thinking the same thing on the two days the ships are coming in......villa day! The day of our anniversary there are two ships with nearly 10,000 people. Was hoping they would be gone before dinner so we could make a dinner reservation at Zozo's. I think I can still pull that one off.
