Hubby inquiring if anybody is familiar with a shop in St John that sells cigars (Aurtero Fuente,Monte Cristo,Coheba) at Charlotte Amalie prices. Or maybe a place by the airport or on the way to Red Hook? Didnt have any luck at Red Hook shops last year and not really wanting to stop in Charlotte Amalie on the way to the ferry. Thanks for any input!

Captain's Corner in Cruz Bay had a limited selection of cigars - they also had some at Food Center - not sure what Brand - they did have AF at the duty free shop - good luck!

I've found pretty limited selection and pretty high prices everywhere SJ for cigars. Starfish gourmet has the largest selection I've found, probably 10-12 different brands. Did not check last trip but on previous trips they did have Coheba. Lily's in Coral Bay also has a limited selection if you're on that side.
I buy mine online and pack them in the box we ship down prior to our trip.

This is the online version of the store in Rehoboth Beach. http://www.cigars-for-less.com/index.cfm

I pick up a box of A. Fuente Double Chateau Maduro and carry 6 or 7 in my backpack. A good cigar that goes well with rum punch...

AH Rise has the best selection and prices I found a few weeks ago and most if not all you wrote.... stop at their store in havensight by the cruise ships. You can park right in front . A bit scaled down selection as their downtown store but pretty close. I stopped on the way home and bought a dozen ..... They close @ 5

Hubby loves his vacay cigars. But haven't found cheaper prices than we pay here at home. He always brings his with him in a special pelican case designed for transport. we save a lot of $$$ that way.

There used to be a cigar shop in dowtown Charlotte Amalie and also one in Cruz Bay but I think the one on STJ went out of business. Neither offered any cheap discounts - like you can find for liquor or cigarettes in the VI's.

On another note, you can get cubans on Jost and the BVI's but they aren't cheap either.

IMHO the best bet is to order on line and bring your own.

Sparky's Can Get Captain's Corner Main Street Cigars

Since Sparky's is also a Captain's Corner store. They generally have many of the Stateside premium popular brands, or can get them from the STT Main St store.

A brand from Barbados, Royal Barbados, is very popular, because it's not readily available in the States. You might also want to try the Virgin Islands Rum Cigar.

My husband really liked the ones soaked in VI rum - they are available at Captain's Quarters.
